The Gallery of Contemporary Textile Artists

University for the Creative Arts
Curated by: Lesley Millar

Welcome to the Transition and Influence Contemporary Textile Artists Web Gallery: whether you are a collector, a museum or gallery curator, a journalist or a student, this unique resource has been created to profile contemporary textile artists from the UK and around the world. I hope you enjoy the work in the Gallery, perhaps you'll find a new piece for your collection, exhibit the work in your museum or gallery, write about a particular artist or simply find out more. Every artist has included a statement, CV and contact details. Simply click on the images to view an artist's work or go to the Directory page to find a specific artist.

Emerging Artist
Louise Anderson

A weaver and dyer using the slow process of weaving as a material representation of time: with each pick of yarn the cloth grows and time passes. She uses a subdued palette of natural yarns, natural indigo, rust or tea staining, to enhance the calm, contemplative effect of the work. Catch Louise’s work in the exhibition 'Blue' at Flow Gallery, London in Spring 2011. For details: www.flowgallery.co.uk
